BitMine Accumulates 53,501 ETH as Ethereum Struggles to Break $2,570 Ceiling
BitMine Immersion Technologies disclosed the purchase of 53,501 ETH last week, lifting its treasury to 5,901,112 tokens — roughly 4.9% of Ethereum's 120.7 million token supply.

The acquisition, worth approximately $131.3 million at recent price levels, extends a 65-week accumulation streak that began June 30, 2025. Market response: muted. ETH trades near $2,453 after multiple failed attempts to clear the $2,542–$2,570 resistance band.
The Corporate Bid
BitMine's ETH stack is now valued near $14.5 billion. Of that, 5,067,309 tokens — about 86% of holdings — sit in staking, generating an estimated $335 million in annualized revenue at a 2.63% seven-day yield. The company projects that figure could climb to $390 million once additional ETH is deployed through MAVAN, its institutional staking platform.
The wider balance sheet clocks in at $15.6 billion across crypto, cash, and listed securities, including stakes in Beast Industries and Eightco Holdings plus 211 BTC. That keeps BitMine ahead of every other ETH corporate treasury, though Strategy still leads on total digital asset value thanks to its Bitcoin position. Chairman Tom Lee noted Ethereum has outperformed major macro assets in Q3, pointing to tokenization and agentic AI as the demand drivers he expects to pull in more institutional buyers through year-end.
BMNR is heavily traded: average daily dollar volume reached $1.36 billion across the five sessions through August 29. The stock recovered to $23.97, up 0.71% on the announcement day.
Price Structure: Coiled, Not Broken
ETH bounced from the $1,900 demand zone but capped below the 50-week SMA near $2,542. The 50-week EMA sits lower at $2,374, defining a broader consolidation range. Analyst Ted Pillows flagged a failed push at $2,550; Crypto Patel marks $2,570 as the higher-timeframe change-of-character trigger. A weekly close above that band opens the path toward $2,800.
Failure flips the script. The $2,400–$2,500 zone functions as a bearish order block — rejection there re-exposes $2,200, then $1,965. Patel's deeper downside markers: $1,736 and $1,503, with a broader lower-high structure risking a retest of the $1,000 area if ETH cannot reclaim the 50-week SMA.
What the Order Book Confirms
The bid is not just corporate. Weekly spot ETH ETF inflows reached $824.42 million, up from $697.18 million the prior week. Ethereum also reclaimed its realized price after 108 days below cost basis — a structural shift in holder profitability, though not yet a trend confirmation.
The setup: tight range, heavy resistance overhead, real institutional demand underneath. The trade is binary on a $2,570 weekly close. Until then, liquidity sweeps at the range extremes are the only edge. For positioning context, broader Q3 rotation flows across altcoin sectors show where capital is migrating.
