Beldex Secures $8 Million to Advance Web3 and AI Privacy Infrastructure
According to Decrypt, privacy-focused Layer 1 Beldex has closed an $8 million equity round to build out its Web3 and AI privacy infrastructure — bringing total capital raised to $36 million.

Sigma Capital led, with NTC, Nxgen, Digital Consensus Fund, and EAK Ventures piling on alongside earlier backers DWF Labs and Block Alpha. For anyone tracking altcoin infrastructure plays, this is a real signal of where privacy L1 capital is heading.
What the $8M actually buys
Developer-facing tools, not more consumer apps. Beldex is shipping an Extension Wallet, SDKs, account-based addresses, confidential assets, and an EVM-compatible sidechain testnet. The play: let Ethereum devs build in a familiar environment with privacy baked in at the protocol layer. Sigma Capital framed it as a conviction bet, noting that Beldex "spent years building privacy into the infrastructure itself" rather than treating it as a bolt-on feature.
AI is the second big bet: privacy-preserving agent identities via BNS, encrypted AI comms through BChat, confidential payments, and active research into Fully Homomorphic Encryption so sensitive data stays protected even during processing. The thesis: as AI agents gain autonomy and handle more sensitive data, privacy can't be an afterthought — it has to be default.
What's live vs. still in R&D
Already shipping: Beldex Wallet, BChat, BelNet, Beldex Browser, and BNS. The network runs a masternode architecture with Proof-of-Stake consensus and BDX as the gas and collateral token. That means BDX holders running masternodes are part of the security model — something to actually evaluate before treating BDX as a pure speculative trade.
Still in the lab: FHE implementation, quantum-safe cryptography, private smart contracts, VRF consensus upgrades, and a TSS/DKG cross-chain bridge targeting Ethereum, Solana, and Base. That's a fat roadmap with real execution risk — privacy L1s have a history of slipping timelines.
Risk call: Privacy L1 tokens carry unique regulatory and exchange-delisting risk — research where BDX actually trades and how deep the order books are before sizing any position.
What to watch from here
- Extension Wallet and EVM sidechain testnet launches — these are the near-term catalysts
- BDX liquidity and masternode economics — yield for node operators is the real on-chain signal
- FHE output — if Beldex ships usable FHE, that's the differentiator vs. every other privacy L1 pitching AI integration
- Size small until you see actual developer adoption, not just roadmap slides
